First in a series.

We can’t hug each other but we can help each other.

George Mansfield is owner of Dogwood and long-time city council member. When the coronavirus engulfed Beacon, and all bars and restaurants were ordered closed on Monday March 16, George had to send home his entire staff of 20-plus for the duration of the closure.

In this episode he talks about that awful decision and the pain other businesses and their workers are feeling right now. He also describes how the city government will keep  functioning during this period and highlights the outpouring of care and support between neighbors – all the more important during a time when we must remain physically distant from each other.
