About

Beaconites! is a podcast about Beacon, New York and the people who live here. Over the last three years we have published nearly 100 interviews with city leaders, artists, business owners, educators, students, activists, clergy and other local types.

Beaconites! host Zach Rodgers has lived on Dutchess Terrace with his wife and two kids since 2007. When not working on Beaconites!, he writes and produces other podcasts on topics relating to digital media and technology. He has written about agriculture and biofuels for The Guardian, and has won several journalism and publishing industry awards including Jesse H. Neal, Azbee and SIPA Awards. He got his start at The Harbor Light, a weekly newspaper in his home town of Harbor Springs, Michigan.

Episodes are recorded at the Beacon AV Lab, a recording studio and audio/video workshop at the old Beacon High School.
